2012

FEBRUARY 2012 – BIG CHANGES AHEAD!

Can we start a partner supported ministry with zero experience and zero equipment? Will our friends actually partner with us? YES. Ten years later we have 26 families who have partnered with Creative Impact since the beginning!

MARCH 2012 – OUR MISSION

UPDATE: APRIL 2012 – A GRAND ADVENTURE

Serving missionaries with documentary story telling was a calling from The Lord, but we were still pretty ignorant about how this might be accomplished.

JUNE 2012 – ON THE MOVE AGAIN!

We sold our home and moved into the church office so we could afford to be free to focus on the mission.

DAREN LINDLEY

In this short video, Daren Lindley, CEO of Good Catch Publishing encourages partnership with CIM.

Daren gave us our first opportunity to try our wings “on the road” (Alaska, Washington, Oregon and Idaho) with Good Catch Publishing. This was Jim’s ‘school’ for video creation and we produced 14 short videos for them.

AUGUST 2012 – WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS MAN?

A bit of Jim’s offbeat humor here with some Oscar-worthy acting on our part. And yes, that’s us singing those songs on the ‘radio’… it’s goofy!

AUGUST 2012 – HERE WE GO!

We are all set to step down from our lead pastor position at Cornerstone Worship Center in Nampa ID and began our full time work serving missionaries.

UPDATE: SEPTEMBER 2012 – WELCOME TO IMMANUEL MISSION

Due to Lynn’s connection with Immanuel Mission School (Sweetwater AZ) we were able to serve this mission school with several videos.

OCTOBER 2012 – IMMANUEL MISSION - GOD WITH US

Our first documentary film! It was a joy serving Immanuel Mission School. We filmed during September and October. We’ve learned a lot since then, but it still blessed this group of missionaries!

“I showed the Immanuel Mission documentary at Kansas Bible Camp this summer. Several teens came up and thanked me and many were teary eyed. I didn’t realize it would have such an emotional impact! It was encouraging for me to see ‘hardened’ teenagers being touched by the Lord for missions.”

Anne Denney - High School Teacher at Immanuel Mission School

“My home church in Kansas used our Immanuel Mission documentary as part of their VBS program this past summer. The VBS kids donated over $1,000 to our school food program!”

Michelle Lawman - 2nd grade teacher at Immanuel Mission School

NOVEMBER 2012 – TOUR OF IMMANUEL MISSION

“Churches have used our Immanuel Mission documentary to prepare their summer mission teams before they come to serve here. Many have commented that the films are very good at putting a face on Immanuel Mission. We are so thankful to have these films as a resource to get the word out about Immanuel Mission. Thanks again for your hard work!”

John Bloom - Principal at Immanuel Mission School

WHY CREATIVE IMPACT MINISTRIES?

Jim demonstrates the power of video for story telling.

Our daughter, Bethany, and her husband Tomáš live in the Czech Republic - ‘lo and behold’ our first project outside of the USA was the Czech Republic!

UPDATE: MAY 2013 – THE STAPLETONS IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC

It was easy to fall in love with the Czech people. See CIM’s film: Czech Mates on the FILMS TAB.

“Since the release of our Creative Impact Documentary, we have garnered new supporting churches and individuals, and we have young people coming as summer interns for our summer camps. The time Jim & Lynn invested with us is racking up the benefits. We will be forever grateful for their ministry. We are also surprised at how well the documentary is being accepted by our Czech contacts!”

Ken Stapleton - Missionary in the Czech Republic

MAY 2013 – FESTIVAL OF IDEAS / CZECH REPUBLIC

Sometimes we do extra projects to serve our missionaries.

UPDATE: JUNE 2013 – OM BELGIUM IN BELGIUM

A fantastic opportunity to serve a TEAM of missionaries! OM Belgium serves the local national pastors and their churches in a variety of ways. See CIM’s films: Is Belgium A Mission Field? and Hearts For Outreach on the FILMS TAB.

“Thank you for the film you made of our Belgium outreach team. It makes me cry every time I watch it. Many of my non-Christian friends have ‘liked’ it on Facebook. The story you presented is going to be a tool to inspire some of these people to step into a walk with Jesus and a ministry to see Belgium reached. Thank you for your time and sensitivity.”

Karen Burton - Missionary in Belgium

JUNE 2013 – GOVERT’S TESTIMONY

We are privileged to meet many people and hear their stories. We asked Govert if we could film him telling his very moving story.

JULY 2013 – GALWAY IRELAND / SERVE THE CITY

A TEST:  Can you understand what this Irishman is saying? Sometimes do extra work to serve our missionaries.

UPDATE: JULY 2013 – THE O’TOOLES IN IRELAND

And who does’t want to go to Ireland? Yes, it is stunningly beautiful but also very difficult for evangelical missionaries. The O’Tooles have a deep love for the people of Ireland. See CIM’s film: Ireland Crossroads on the FILMS TAB.

“Jim & Lynn – you got a great compliment from the Irish – they said you made Ireland scenery look better than it really is! We have received lots of positive feedback on our documentary and the Serve The City film. They are moving, inspiring, and tell our story in a great way which is clear and understandable. Thank you!”

Kristina O'Toole - Missionary in Ireland

AUGUST 2013 – ALASKA CARVING SHED PROJECT

WOW is putting it mildly. We are so grateful for a unique opportunity to serve in Klawock on Prince Of Wales Island in southern Alaska. It was an incredibly powerful time with the Tlingit and Haida people. This short film demonstrates how mission teams and the church are working to help restore the culture that was taken from these people.

AUGUST 2013 – KLAWOCK POLE RAISING IN ALASKA

“I loved this video. Seeing family and friends at special events like this is a blessing. I am so glad the youth take part in the cultural activities. Being a Tlingit from Klawock, I would have to say how proud I am of the village. Resourceful and respectful. Traditional values in every day life. I love being home!”

Lisa Krieger - Alaska

“Totem poles! Really?” That was our first reaction. But these works of art are not what many people might think they are - totems represent stories of heritage from different family groups. As each pole went up, and at each evening celebration. public prayers were offered by the elders in the name of Jesus Christ! We came only to film the Carving Shed project, but the Holy Spirit led us to produce this Pole Raising film as a gift to the Tlingit people on Prince of Wales Island. We believe this was pleasing to the Lord.

“Every time I watch this video I get very happy and proud. I had the honor of carving with my uncle Jon Rowan on some of the totems in the park. Such an amazing video. Gunalcheesh! (Thank you!)”

Harry Jackson Jr. - Alaska

“I literally cried while watching this. I remember being there when this happened in 2013, and I was just a kid. My father helped carve one of the totems, so this meant a lot to me.”

Mio - Alaska

“This is a wonderful tribute to Jonathan Rowan and his carver apprentices. Countless hours were spent replicating these historic stories of the past. It’s through these carvings that the culture lives on for future descendants, never to be forgotten.”

Arlene Buxton - Alaska

“A lot of filmmakers come here to try and tell our story - but Creative Impact Ministries are the first filmmakers who have allowed us to tell our own story.”

Les Isaacs - City Council - Klawock, Alaska

UPDATE: FEBRUARY 2015 – THE HUBBARDS IN COSTA RICA

Hiking through the jungle in remote mountain areas to visit the work among the indigenous Cabécar people is our kind of life. And we laughed a LOT on this project! Thanks to our friend Bryan Cruthirds who came to help us film. See CIM’s film: Of The People on the FILMS TAB.

“Jim and Lynn Adams spent two weeks with us hiking in the jungle and driving on difficult, bumpy roads. At the end of the two weeks, they were dear friends to us. The documentary they produced was not only visually beautiful, but they were also able to capture our story; the difficulties, the joys, the hard work, the rewards, and the emotions behind what we were doing. Our documentary is a touching film and it helped us tremendously to communicate effectively to our supporters and other people interested in what we do. Many people told us that they didn´t really understand our mission until they watched the documentary, and many more became our supporters after watching it. Thank you, Jim and Lynn! Your work is truly amazing and a huge blessing to all of us who have received the gift of working with you.”

Josiah & Cynthia Hubbard - Missionaries in Costa Rica

What a GREAT story and a wonderful time in beautiful Mexico. We LOVED being at 9,000 ft in the south central Sierra Nevada mountains of Mexico. See CIM’s film: Finishing Well on the FILMS TAB.

“The Adams team offered to come with me to an area of Southern Mexico where no one else will go. They came to film a ministry in which God is moving powerfully today among a desperate, isolated people. The film they produced has opened the eyes of my support team and many other congregations to the desperate plight of a people and the power of God to overcome all obstacles to the Gospel of our Lord. The film they produced has placed this ministry solidly in the minds of His people, and raised the effectiveness of prayers all over the USA and Mexico”

Andy Toth - Missionary in Mexico

MAY 2017 — TASTES LIKE HEAVEN?

Would you say that Simon is convincing when he asks Andy to try some durian fruit?

MAY 2017 — SYNCHRONIZED SWIMMERS

Thailand will be remembered as a beautiful country where we absolutely LOVED the people and the ministry we served – but also where the group we were serving had scheduled us to work fourteen-hour days for fourteen days in a row. Somehow we did it! It was the last day of filming and we were absolutely exhausted to that point where we started getting a little goofy. We needed a break! So we went to the 10th floor of our Bangkok hotel to swim and to end our visit with a ‘splash’. The following day, just hours before our flight to Poland, Lynn broke her arm! (But that’s a different story - see the following update video up for photos).

UPDATE: MAY - JUNE 2017 THE HAYS (THAILAND) AND THE MIELONENS (POLAND)

A quick visual of our time in Thailand with thinkSMALL followed by production in Poland! The documentaries: ONE-EIGHTY: Learning to thinkSMALL (Thailand) and A  Long Obedience in One Direction (Poland) are located the FILMS TAB……………………………………………………The middle of this video features some photos of Lynn after she broke her arm in the hotel shower on our last day in Thailand. After surgery she was 5 days in the hospital. Then she flew to Czech Republic and continued on to Poland to film the next project!

“The CIM team came to us in 2017, and we still use their material for introducing new partners to the work here in Poland. They were easy to work with, flexible, and communicated very well during the entire process. Even though we were still early in our ministry time, they were able to tell a story that still captivates people because it's about the heart. We highly recommend Creative Impact for anyone looking to make a story people can connect with, one which lives on in time, and not just a ministry update or promo.”

Travis Mielonen - Missionary in Poland

UPDATE: JULY 2017 – THE TRANSITION TO TENNESSEE

It was a BIG and very difficult decision to leave beautiful Idaho - our home state for 28 years. We no longer had a sending church in Idaho, and Tennessee became the choice for our next season of life and ministry.

This update includes our true story about the 70 foot (40 ton) boat that started sinking in the Amazon River – while we were on board! The documentary about the Bouthilliers, Love…Unfiltered is located on the FILMS TAB

“I have only wonderful things to say about Creative Impact Ministries! They produced an award winning film for us and it was extremely useful in presenting what we do and who we are. Their film is an excellent tool and greatly helped us raise financial and prayer support. Thank you so much Creative Impact Ministries!”

Christie Bouthillier - Missionary in Brazil

“People really connected when they saw our documentary. Friends we have known for a long time were surprised to actually see what we do and they really engaged afterward with questions. They were hooked on our love story, laughed at the canoe water bailing, . . . People who have missional hearts became very emotional when they saw the film. It was clear that church leaders have a lot more respect for what we do. “We received some large contributions from people we didn’t know previously. One gift was for $25,000 and another one was for $12,000. Also there were more people wanting to be part of our support team.”

Richie Bouthillier - Missionary in Brazil
